will host the Energy Progress & Innovation Conference (EPIC) on Jan. 23-25 at the Bismarck Event Center. This year’s conference, formerly known as the Energy Generation Conference, features 200 exhibit booths representing 35 states as well as industry speakers, professional development sessions and networking opportunities. Conference officials anticipate over 1500 attendees in 2024.
EPIC, which is celebrating its 45
th
year, has been working to meet with energy companies and new leadership at facilities to renew relationships that have been in place since the start of the conference in the late 1970s.
Conference speakers for 2024 include keynote speaker Robert Bryce, author and host of the “Power Hungry Podcast,” and six books, including “A Question of Power: Electricity and the Wealth of Nations.” Bryce has given more than 450 keynote lectures to groups ranging from the Marine Corps War College to the Sydney Institute, as well as various associations, universities and corporations.
Each day closes with keynote speaker Holly Hoffman, the last remaining member of the Espada Tribe and the last woman standing on Season 21 of the CBS hit reality show “Survivor Nicaragua.” It was through that experience, and others throughout her life, that Hoffman was inspired to share her message of survival.
Educational and professional development sessions will be held throughout the conference, and all sessions are included in the registration fee of $150 per day or $250 for both days until Jan. 17. Sessions will reopen onsite during the conference. The Exhibitor Showcase Social is free and open to the public on Tuesday, Jan. 23, from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
Major sponsors for the 2024 conference include Marathon Petroleum Corporation (Diamond Sponsor), Basin Electric Power Cooperative (Platinum Sponsor) and the North Dakota Department of Commerce (Platinum/Opening Keynote Sponsor. For more information, the conference agenda or to register, visit or call the BSC Continuing Education department at 701-224-5600.
